In this chapter i.e. chapter 1- Knowing your numbers of NCERT Book. You will play with numbers by knowing their values along with shifting their positions from ascending order to descending order and vice versa. As shifting digit always proved to be very interesting, if you are aware about the number pattern as well as the way in which the place value in assigned to a number in different styles. In the end you will learn about roman numbers in which you are going to assign a symbolic value to the number.
In previous chapter, we learn about numbers and their symbolic value in the form of roman numbers. Now its time to learn about predecessor and successor in which we study about whole numbers along with all the basic operations. This time we will learn all those basic operations on the number line with some fun exercises and examples given in our NCERT book under chapter 2 with name whole numbers.
Factors and multiples play an important role in arranging the numbers in proper order which w will be able to see in chapter 3 i.e. playing with numbers of NCERT. While studying about factors we come to know about the terms like divisor, remainder and quotient whereas mutiples tells us about the properties of the multiple along with prime and composite number. Further, we study about the test of divisibility of different numbers then common factors and common multiples, prime factorisation then highest common factor (HCF) and lowest common factor (LCM) by practicing some NCERT questions.
After encountering basic shapes in daily life. Lets gather some more fascinating facts about those shapes like points, line segment, intersecting lines, parallel lines, ray, curves, polygon and so on from chapter 4 - Basic geometrical ideas of NCERT. After that we discuss about different types of angles, triangles, quadrilaterals, circles along with some more mathematical terms.
Chapter 5 of NCERT i.e. understanding elementary shapes deals with the basic elements of shape formation are lines, curves and points. By using those basic elements we will able to form triangle, polygon and so on. Then we discuss about the measuring line segments and after that we discuss about the classification of angles, classification of triangles based on its nature and sides then last but not least i.e. polygon and quadrilaterals including some three dimensional images.
Start chapter 6 Integers of NCERT with whole number which can either be positive or negative and sometimes it can be zero. We learn more by presenting all those numbers on number lines and also by arranging them in proper order. Firther, we use number lines for addition and subtraction of an integer.
As it is said "Sharing is caring" and it is only possible when we have awareness about how to divide different things using fractions in mathematics with some new terminologies like numerator and denominator. After this we learn different types of fractions i.e. proper fraction, improper fraction, mixed fraction etc and their use on number line in chpater 7 fraction of NCERT.
In earlier classes, we learned about rupees, paisa and so many other measuring units. Lets apply that knowledge in more brief way by encountering the use of decimal and its importance. In this chaper number 8 i.e decimals of NCERT we learn about the use of tenths, Hundredths on number line by using decimals. We also learn about comparing the decimals, and the use of some basic operations in decimals.
Apart from playing with numbers put a step ahead and start gathering information from numbers as well about some particular things. Its quite easy to understand things when we arrange them in a particular order, that order is known as tally or data handling. In chapter 9 of NCERT i.e. data handling, we are going to learn about how to record and organise data by using pictograph and bar graph along with some fun exercise.
Do you have any idea how do people come to know about the length, breadth and width of an object by using numbers? No, then come with us and lets get familiar with the concept by playing some fun games of parameter and how it is applicable in different shapes by just remembering some basic rules in chapter 10 of NCERT i.e. mensuration. It is all about different shapes like rectangle, square and so on.
In chapter 13, Symmetry of NCERT, we are going to start a totally new concept in which we are going to learn what is symmetry, how one can make or divide figures with the help of the line of symmetry. After that we also learn different number of lines of symmetry and how they are associated with refelction.
While studying the concept of whole numbers in chapter 2, we learned at very initial stage of mathematics that subtraction was used for finding out the difference between two numbers but later on we find more refined method of comparing numbers i.e ratio in chapter 12 of NCERT under the heading ratio and proportion. In which we learned that the numbers should be in the same units if we want to find out the exact ratio. After that we also learn about proportion and the difference between ratio and proportion by solving many word problems with the help of unitary methods.

Now its time to learn about the usage of drawing objects of mathematics with the help of drawing tools like ruler, compasses, divider, protractor for drawing figures and become aware about the Practical geometry in chapter 14 of NCERT. Some common tools which are used a lot are compass and ruler for making figures like circle, a line segment, perpendiculars at different situations, angles and its sub division i.e. bisectors of angles, angles of special measures, a copy of an angle etc.
